Over 40 Nigerians living in New York on May 6, 2014, gathered
outside of the Nigerian Embassy to protest the abduction of hundreds of
GGSS Chibok female students in Borno.
The
protesters were carrying various placards with such inscriptions as
"Nigerian Government, Bring Chibok Girls Home Immediately," "Govt
Officials in Fortresses, Our Girls in the Forest," "Bomb Blast in Abuja,
President Jonathan Dancing in Kano," "#BringBackOurGirls," "Setting
Committee 3 Weeks After Abduction Is Grand Mediocrity," "The Whole World
Calls for the Rescue of the Chibok Girls" and many more.
Similar
rallies took place across Nigeria and in other countries across the
world. Three days ago, May 3, similar protest took place in Washington,
D.C., the capital of the United States.
In New York, people with
placards and banners sang and chanted slogans and voiced their anger
through speeches directed at the Nigerian Government and international
community.
