Apostle Suleman mocks Nigerian electoral system as Supreme Court sacks David Lyon as winner of Bayelsa governorship election

Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to the Supreme Court Judgement which sacked David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of Bayelsa governorship election.
The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministeries in his tweet said Nigerian politics is becoming comical with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducting election while the supreme court declares its winners.
He tweeted;
“Nigeria politics is becoming comical. INEC conducts election and announces results but the supreme court declares winners.
“So even if you don’t do well in election just be ready to do well in court..political quagmire, catalytic and epileptic electoral process.”

Bayelsa Supreme court ruling : Is Oshiomole the new Chief Justice of Nigeria?

The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Aliyu Oshiomole, has come under intense public fire, over his comment that nobody will be sworn in as governor in Bayelsa today.
On Thursday, Supreme Court 5 man panel, led by the erudite Mary Odili, ruled against APC, over certificate forgery of the deputy governor to David Lyon. Oshiomole, while reacting to the verdict, said that the judgement lacked fruit of Justice, what that means is that, he is faulting the verdict.
But that is not the case, for a National Chairman not to know that it is a grave mistake, to issue a blanket statement that nobody will be sworn in, is tantamount to the fact that he is already giving his own unilateral judgement, as against the ruling of the Supreme Court.
PDP issued a statement via its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodiyan, warning Oshiomole from making further statement that can cause chaos in Bayelsa State. But from the look of things, INEC will go ahead to implement the Supreme Court judgement, because what appears as barrier, has now been cleared.
Diri won in 5 local governments which is the 2/3 spread requirement by the law, for him to be sworn in. Not only that, all the APC votes has been invalidated.
It is expected that APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole should have carefully studied the judgement, and be provided with adequate information, before reacting like he did.
He cannot take over the responsibility of the court by saying that no one will be sworn in as governor of Bayelsa.
The question is, has Oshiomole turned CJN?

Imo: National Press Club proposes visa ban for Supreme court Justices that annulled Ihedioha’s election

The National Press Club which is the largest propgessional organisation for journalists, has proposed a list of punitive measures against the Supreme Court Justices that annulled the election of Emeka Ihedioha of Imo state and instated Hope Uzodinma as the new governor.
Thisday reports that the club at a roundtable meeting held recently, warned that the judgment if not reversed could lead to more sanction against the judiciary, which is supposed to be the last hope of Nigerians. Outside the apex court justices, others to be considered for strong punitive measures are the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) whom they believed is behind the action of the apex court justices.
According to one of the speakers, the United States recently passed a law, which empowers the president at the request of the Secretary of State and various committees’ chairmen in Congress to list persons abroad that would be denied visa, have their assets frozen and be excluded from the commerce of the United States, “if they are complicit in recognised internationally rights violations”.
In my view I think the Supreme Court justices would be at risk if this decision flagrantly tainted is not reversed and it could impact not only the seven Justices who sat in that particular case but the entire bench of the Supreme Court.
The whole institution has shown that it is corrupted and compromised and we encourage others to remind them that others could be impacted if they stood on their earlier fraudulent decision” one of the speakers said

Bank employee sexually assaulted by white customer awarded $2.4m compensation

A former PNC Bank employee has been awarded $2.4 million after one of the Bank’s white customers sexually assaulted her.
A New Jersey jury sided with Damara Scott’s claims that the customer, Patrick Pignatello, 77, sexually harassed her outside the Bank’s branch where she worked in Glen Ridge which is said to be an affluent town about 16 miles west of Manhattan.
According to Scott’s lawsuit, Pignatello followed her from the bank to her car in 2013, grabbed her and grinded her buttocks.
Pignatello was charged with sexual assault after the incident but died of a heart attack before he was arraigned. He was said to have a long history of sexually harassing African-American female employees and customers in the PNC Bank branch.
In her suit, Scott, 41, claimed that the bank knew Pignatello, who was said to be wealthy customer had a history of harassing behavior aimed at African-American women at the bank, but did nothing about it. According to Scott, more than six years after the incident she is still traumatized.
The jury sided with Scott, awarding her $2.4 million in compensatory damages.
“The jury recognized that PNC had failed to provide a safe workplace for Ms. Scott,” said Nancy Erika Smith, one of Scott’s attorneys. “We hope PNC will now take the steps to eliminate harassment throughout the company.”
“One of the great things about our justice system is that citizens can sit in judgment on powerful corporations and hold them accountable,” said Smith. “Women are tired of employers who tolerate sexual harassment.”
PNC Bank which is based in Pittsburgh, plans to appeal the verdict, saying there were “errors made by the court”, NJ.com reported.
“PNC does not condone harassment of any kind. We have a long-standing history of providing a safe workplace for our employees, and robust policies and procedures to help ensure that we continue to do so. We are disappointed by the verdict, even though the jury expressly found that this was not a case where punitive damages were appropriate,” bank officials said in a statement.

Nnamdi Kanu apologies to Abia CP over threat to family

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has apologised to Abia Commissioner of Police, Eneh Okon over the threat on members of his family.
Kanu had threatened to deal with the children of the Commissioner should anything happens to any member of the pro-Biafra group attending his parents’ burial tomorrow at Isiama Afaraukwu in Umuahia North Local Government of the state.
Kanu’s apology in a tweet on his twitter handle @MaziNnamdiKanu stated that the anger of the security siege in his community coupled with the outburst of senior security operatives against the burial made him issue the threat.
Apologising, Kanu noted despite the fact he is in the mourning period but he went too far, stressing that “children should always be left out”.
Kanu’s tweets read: “This Friday, mourners in Biafra will come together to attend the funeral for my beloved parents, Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and Ugoeze Sally Nmenme Kanu.
“During this time of mourning, the Indigenous People of Biafra are living in a constant state of fear.
“The Abia State Commissioner of Police is threatening to disrupt the funeral and there continues to be a large military presence in the area, which has a history of inflicting violence against the IPOB.
“This has caused a range of emotions for me. I have now gone from an extreme sense of sadness after losing both of my parents, to an extreme sense of anger knowing that the mourners are in grave danger.
“In this time of immense grieving and anger, I made threats against the children of the Police Commissioner and other Nigerian officials on my radio programmme, Radio Biafra.
“This was wrong and I sincerely apologize. Children should always be off-limits.
“It was my intention to bring global awareness to the threats and imminent danger the Government has placed on my family and community in hopes that shining a global spotlight on the actions of the Government will prevent them from inciting violence against my people. In doing so, I went too far.
“It is my great hope that the Indigenous People of Biafra can mourn in peace on Friday and can live in peace every single day forward.”

‘Nothing Will Stop Us From Attending Burial Of Nnamdi Kanu’s Parents’ – IPOB Dares Army

The Indigenous of People of Biafra (IPOB) has vowed it will not give in to pressure by the military to stop its members from attending the burial of the parents of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The proscribed group said it was aware of the numerous plans and strategies of the military troops deployed to the region in preparation for the burial of the deceased, who it referred to as its “first parents”.
In a statement on Wednesday by the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group described the presence of Nigerian army and police as an insult to the people of Biafra and the Igbo race in particular.
The pro-Biafran group warned the military to steer clear of the burial venue, just at it cautioned mourners attending the ceremony to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the noble ideals of its ancestors.
The statement partly reads: “We the global family of the Indigenous of People of Biafra (IPOB) wish to reiterate in clear and unambiguous terms that what Nigerian police and army are planning to do in Afaraukwu during the burial of Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and his wife on Friday 14th of February 2020 will set-off a chain reaction that Nigeria will never recover from.
“Common arbitrary arrest of any mourner this week Friday is capable of inciting a disproportionate reaction from angry mourners. IPOB is warning all agents of Nigerian government in Biafraland, traitors and caliphate slaves alike that what will befall CP Okon will also be their portion should shots be fired in Afaraukwu. The era of Nigerian army and police shooting innocent mourners in Biafraland has come to an end.
“What is happening in Umuahia with the provocative presence of Nigerian army and police is an insult to the people of Biafra and the Igbo race in particular. All those that have in various ways supported the unprovoked murderous clampdown on IPOB will pay dearly for it.
“IPOB has remained peaceful but it seems the Nigerian government is hell-bent on provoking us into armed struggle that will inevitably precipate the violent disinetegration of Nigeria. Nigerians should call their government in Aso Rock to order and impress upon them the need for their army and police to steer clear of the whole of Umuahia township on February 14, 2020 in the interest of peace.
“They should head to the north where there are countless security challenges. We want to join the people of Afaraukwu in peacefully mourning the death of HRM Eze Sir I.O Kanu and his wife in peace, who it must be said died as a result of Nigerian army and police invasion of their home on September 14, 2017.
“What Nigerian army and police are doing in Umuahia cannot happen in the north. We do not think the Alimajiri populations of the north will allow the burial of an Emir to be subjected to such needless tension and ridicule but in Biafraland anything goes because of the reign of puppets and quislings.
“As we continue to receive daily threats from the army and police regarding their impending massacre of innocent mourners on Friday February 14, let the world be on notice that the floodgates of hell will be opened should the army or police appear anywhere around Afaraukwu on the day of the burial. Let those that may feign ignorance of the fact be duly warned on time that burial ceremony is sacred in Igboland, especially that of a king, therefore the intended nuisance of Nigeria security personnel will not be tolerated on Friday.
“We are aware that those behind the deadly invasion of September 2017 are the same people working with Aso Rock to bring mayhem to Umuahia on Friday. Out of public view, these politicians and so-called socio cultural leaders have been offering finacial support to Fulani soldiers in Obinze, Ohafia, Abakiliki, Onitsha and Asa in readiness for their deadly deployment to Umuahia. Their plan is to kill as many people as possible to demoralise our leader and pave the way for a full scale Fulani invasion and takeover of our land.
“We are equally in the know of the numerous plans and strategies of the troops so far deployed by Buratai to the east in preparation for the burial of our first parents. It’s quite obvious to the average reasonable person that IPOB will not succumb to their pressure regardless of the consequences.
“All their perfected plans to disrupt the burial on that very day is common knowledge among diplomatic circles all over the world who will be following the proceedings live on Biafra Television, social media and Radio Biafra platforms.
“The plan by Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Tukur Buratai to use the burial ceremony of HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu to eliminate and kill anybody suspected to be IPOB supporter in Umuahia on Friday 14th of February 2020 is equal well known, documented and powers that be duly notified.
“The burial service of our leader’s parents HRM Eze Isreal Okwu Kanu and his wife Ugoeze Sally Mmeme Okwu Kanu on Friday at Afaraukwu Umuahia must hold peacefully.
“We want to make it abundantly clear that if the Police and Army fire a single bullet on that day there will be no peace for every soul involved, especially those that issued the order from the comfort of their offices in Abuja, Enugu, Owerri and Umuahia. We need a peaceful funeral, the ancient laws of our land demand it and nobody should try IPOB.
“IPOB is strategically monitoring every individual politician in the South East and governors over their actions and inactions towards this burial on Friday. All those who may have joined the Fulani boy-boy CP Ene Okon of Abia State to encourage Fulani soldiers to come to Afaraukwu to kill people on Friday will pay very dearly for their actions.
“It is unfortunate that some Igbo politicians and their supporters would encourage Fulani terrorists and Boko Haram soldiers recruited in Nigeria Army and Police to kill our people in a funeral ceremony, a sacrilegious act that has never happened before in the history of Igboland, Biafra and Nigeria.
“Every Biafran must be prepared this time, IPOB would not allow these marauders to repeat what they did in Umuahia on September 2017 in this 2020 and definitely not during the burial of the parents of our leader. Nigerian army and police must stay away from Umuahia as a whole.
“We are informing every mourner attending the burial on Friday to conduct him/herself in a manner consistent with the noble ideals of our ancestors.
“All approach to Umuahia is rigged with CCTV cameras to monitor human and vehicular traffic because IPOB won’t accept any confusion or misunderstanding from anybody.
“Biafra independence and freedom is inevitable and nobody born by a mere mortal can stop it.”
