Jay Z and Beyonce’s tour not struggling, over $86m in tickets sold

There were reports last week that the ticket sales for Beyonce and Jay Z’s ‘On The Run’ tour set to begin in Miami on June 25 and wrap in San Francisco Aug. 5 were much lower than expected as people were no longer interested in watching the power couple in concert after the elevator fight…but it seems that report isn’t true…

Sources close to the Live Nation-produced tour tell Billboard that, as of June 17, the tour has racked up about $86 million in ticket sales and is on a pace to gross close to $100 million from just 19 shows. The source says attendance is on a pace to top 850,000 tickets sold, and a Live Nation rep confirmed to Billboard last night that the tour is indeed nearing that threshold. That’s a whopping nightly take of $5.2 million, and an average attendance of nearly 45,000 per show — well more than two sold-out arena shows would generate in any given market. Numerous shows are sold out, and Live Nation cites “unprecedented” VIP and platinum ticket sales.

IK Ogbonna begs girlfriend actress Juliet Ibrahim to take him back via twitter

Yeah, I know most of didn’t even know they were a couple. Actor/model IK Ogbonna and Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim have been dating for months. They broke up a few weeks ago and IK, I hear, has been doing his utmost to get his ladylove back.

This morning, IK posted a YouTube link on his twitter page where he asked Juliet to take him back but immediately took the post down…but like I said yesterday…Fastest Finger’s First! Hehe.

Sad Story: 16yr old kidnapped, beaten and left for dead in a shopping trolley by Paris vigilantes

These are the shocking pics of a Roma teenager who was beaten and left for dead in a supermarket trolley. Vigilantes kidnapped the 16-year-old boy, known only as Darius, from the camp he shares with his family near the northern commuter town of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine on the outskirts of Paris.

The thugs rang the youngster’s mother demanding a €12,000 ransom for the safe return of her son. The figure was later reduced to €4,000, but when it was not paid, the gang battered Darius before dumping him in a shopping trolley before leaving it on the roadside. Continue…

Doctors in a Paris hospital have placed Darius in a medically induced coma following Friday’s brutal assault, which has left him fighting for his life. 

Police confirmed that Darius was set upon on Friday night by a ‘dozen masked men on waste ground around Pierrefitte,’ according to a police source.
The boy’s mother has told detectives that she received a call from the vigilantes on his abandoned mobile phone.

They were first alleged to have asked for around £12,000 before reducing the demand to around £4,000, saying he would be hurt if the ransom was not met. 
Nothing was paid in the end, and Darius was left in the trolley close to the illegal Roma camp in the northern suburb of Pierrefitte where he lived, according to local prosecutor Sylvie Moisson.

Ms Moisson said Darius was held in a basement by men wearing masks and carrying weapons after he was linked to a burglary.
Calling the attack ‘an act of barbarism’, she said the burglar’s description fitted that of Darius, who was ‘quickly hunted, kidnapped, held, beaten and left to die.’
It was his mother who reported the attack, and the victim was found shortly after 11pm on Friday. 

A spokesman for the Lariboisiere hospital in Paris said Darius was still in a ‘chemically induced coma’ because of the pain he was experiencing.

Some months back, actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and husband Matthew Ekeinde marked their 18th wedding anniversary. Omotola Jalade was born on 7 February, 1978 in Lagos. She grew up in a family of five: her parents (both deceased now) and two younger brothers, Tayo and Bolaji Jalade.
Her husband Matthew is a pilot and ten years her senior. They met when she was just 16, while he was 26, and he proposed two years later. Sanusi Ado Bayero, Son Of Late Emir, Explains Why He Left Kano

Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero, the eldest son of late Emir of Kano Ado Abdullahi Bayero, explained in an interview with Daily Trust on Wednesday why he made a decision to leave the state after Sanusi Lamido Sanusi emerged new emir.

Ado Bayero said he left not because of illness as alleged by some, but rather because of his concerns about security in the state. "I am not a troublemaker. That was why I left Kano," he stated. "Because if I am in Kano, even if I just step out of my house it can create a lot of problems which can affect the security in the state." he added.

"I don’t want anything that will degenerate to street riot and all that. The peace and security of my people are paramount to me. I left the state intentionally; nobody compelled me to do so and nobody can stop me from returning to Kano. I will return at my own time."

This was also the reason why he did not join his brothers when they paid visit to the new emir on June 14, Ado Bayero said.

He called on the media to avoid reporting that could provoke riots in Kano. "I am a man of peace and that was what our late emir taught us. Throughout his reign, he preached peace in the state, country and across the world. I don’t want crisis no matter how small and please you people should help us to sustain peace in the state. It is the responsibility of you the media to preach peace."

Lamido Sanusi, who previously served as the governor of the Central Bank, was elected emir on June 8. Two other contenders were Ado Bayero, the District Head of Gwale, and Wamban Kano Abbas Sanusi.

Several people were feared dead as pro and anti-Sanusi protesters clashed in city of Kano shortly after the new emir was elected. The police blockaded the palace explaining the move by the need to protect the place from hooligans. Only after the four-day siege was lifted, the new emir was able to enter his official residence.
