I’ve No Hand In Nyako’s Impeachment Plot – Akpabio
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio, has dissociated himself
from moves by the Adamawa State House of Assembly to impeach Governor
Muritala Nyako, advising those linking him to the plot to look elsewhere
for whom they want to blackmail through falsehood.
Akpabio, who is also chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, in a press
statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Pastor Anietie Ukpe, said: “we
read with shock and dismay a strange report in the Saturday Newswatch of
June 21, 2014, in which the writer mischievously insinuated that the
members of the Adamawa House of Assembly were acting a script written by
the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio,
in the impeachment imbroglio between the Adamawa House of Assembly and
the Adamawa Governor, Governor Muritala Nyako”.
According to the statement: “It does appear that the penchant by some sections of the press to attribute every incident from the eclipse of the sun to their wives miscarriages to the Akwa Ibom State Governor has been taken to new heights of absurdity by the attribution to Governor Akpabio of such an action plotting the ouster of a man he has no quarrel of any kind with”.

End Time Pants: Would You Wear These C-String?
Some crazes are brief but these briefs are just crazy!
Forget the G-string, the latest thing to be seen in is the C-string… and there really is not much to it.
Looking more like a headband, the briefest of
fronts tapers to a wire that tucks between your cheeks and, ahem, holds
everything together.
Men are buying them in droves for their wives and girlfriends as an alternative to sensible granny pants.
Women, it has to be said, are not so smitten.
One wrote on a forum: “It either bent from shipping or is of very poor quality.
“It is very uncomforable. The fabric is almost like swimsuit material, very weird.
“It doesn’t stay in place. Can’t see wearing this for more than 2 minutes. Don’t waste your money … this product is worthless.”
Her views have been echoed by women
columnists around the world, some of whom road-tested the garment and
came away more than a little miffed.
One labelled it ‘the worst thing ever to happen to women’s undergarments … and possibly humanity.’
Funnily, men can’t see anything wrong with the C-string and have sang its praises online in a series of posts.
One husband wrote online: “My wife didn’t like it very much – but I loved it!”
The poor man could be in for a surprise
himself when his wife realises there is a male version as well… which
makes Borat in a mankini look positively overdressed.
The makers of the C-string say it comes in a
variety of colours, textiles and patterns and you customise by bending
the wire to make it fit better.
It is on sale on sites like Amazon. There has been speculation that Kendall Jenner might have been one of the first to wear a C-string in public after her appearance at the MMVA last weekend.
She turned heads with an eye-popping dress
dramatically cut on both sides above her hips, revealing acres of flesh
and leading to speculation she was knickerless.
After seeing the C-string, one American commentator said: “Thank God we solved that mystery”.

Jay Z and Beyonce’s tour not struggling, over $86m in tickets sold
From Billboard
Sources close to the Live Nation-produced tour tell Billboard that, as of June 17, the tour has racked up about $86 million in ticket sales and is on a pace to gross close to $100 million from just 19 shows. The source says attendance is on a pace to top 850,000 tickets sold, and a Live Nation rep confirmed to Billboard last night that the tour is indeed nearing that threshold. That’s a whopping nightly take of $5.2 million, and an average attendance of nearly 45,000 per show — well more than two sold-out arena shows would generate in any given market. Numerous shows are sold out, and Live Nation cites “unprecedented” VIP and platinum ticket sales.

Sad Story: 16yr old kidnapped, beaten and left for dead in a shopping trolley by Paris vigilantes
The thugs rang the youngster’s mother demanding a €12,000 ransom for the safe return of her son. The figure was later reduced to €4,000, but when it was not paid, the gang battered Darius before dumping him in a shopping trolley before leaving it on the roadside. Continue…
Police confirmed that Darius was set upon on Friday night by a ‘dozen masked men on waste ground around Pierrefitte,’ according to a police source.
The boy’s mother has told detectives that she received a call from the vigilantes on his abandoned mobile phone.
The shocking photographs first appeared on The Telegraph.
They were first alleged to have asked for around £12,000 before reducing the demand to around £4,000, saying he would be hurt if the ransom was not met.
Nothing was paid in the end, and Darius was left in the trolley close to the illegal Roma camp in the northern suburb of Pierrefitte where he lived, according to local prosecutor Sylvie Moisson.
Ms Moisson said Darius was held in a basement by men wearing masks and carrying weapons after he was linked to a burglary.
Calling the attack ‘an act of barbarism’, she said the burglar’s description fitted that of Darius, who was ‘quickly hunted, kidnapped, held, beaten and left to die.’
It was his mother who reported the attack, and the victim was found shortly after 11pm on Friday.
A spokesman for the Lariboisiere hospital in Paris said Darius was still in a ‘chemically induced coma’ because of the pain he was experiencing.
Italy 0-1 Costa Rica: Ticos Through to Second Round, England Eliminated
Costa Rica booked a World Cup last 16 ticket with a laudable 1-0 win over Italy at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife on Friday.
Fulham striker Bryan Ruiz, who featured on loan at Eredevise side PSV
Eindhoven last season, scored the match winning-goal a minute to the
break, when his header ricocheted against the crossbar into the net.
The win landed the final punch on England’s chances of playing in the second round, as Italy and Uruguay now look to join Los Ticos in the knock-out stage of the tournament.
Jorge Luis Pinto’s men join the Netherlands, Chile, Colombia, who already have all extended their stay in Brazil until- at least- July 1. They equal their best ever record- a second round appearance in Italia ’90, where they were beaten by Czechoslovakia after extra time.
The other after-effect of the result has the ‘Three Lions’ exiting the World Cup in the group stage for the first time since 1958.
Costa Rica next face Roy Hodgson’s side in a quest to finish top of Group D with the maximum 9 points next Tuesday.
Prior to kick-off, followers of the English national team had looked out for a favour from the Azzuris, to whom they lost 2-1 in their opening group game, but against the fearless and tireless North Americans; Cesare Pandrelli and his lads found themselves in a land of ‘no mercy’.
And even the arrival of Gianluigi Buffon, who was sidelined from the opening win through injury, couldn’t deter Costa Rica from winning.
They opted for an early goal but Celso Borges’s 7th minute header went wide, with the veteran Juventus goalkeeper flapping at the delivery from a corner.
AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, who had requested a kiss from Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 2 of England, should Italy deliver a win, failed to land the punch on the half-hour mark, after being set through on goal by the ever eclectic Andrea Pirlo, only to dink his effort over goalkeeper Tayor Navas and the target.
Three minutes later, Navas was quick to deny the ex-Manchester City striker’s one-time shot.
Costa Rica again reclaimed possession while Buffon thought Ruiz one basic marksman lesson by making a joke of his shot from 40 yards before Oscar Duarte headed the ball on to the roof of the net after beating his marker.
Pinto’s men should have been awarded a penalty in the 43rd minute, when Giorgio Chiellini pushed Arsenal loanee Joel Campbell over in the box, but referee Enrique Osses waved play on.
Justice at last as they took the lead less than a minute later courtesy of Junior Diaz’s superb cross from the left wing, so good it evaded two centre-backs and Buffon, for Ruiz to head home against the crossbar.
Left back Matteo Darmian quickly forced Navas to a flying save immediately after the break. The goalkeeper then dealt with Pirlo’s beautiful free kick on 53 minutes, as Italy searched for an immediate response.
Costa Rica frustrated the Mediterraneans’ effort to restore parity, visible among Pandrelli’s men was Balotelli, who got himself booked for wrestling his marker to the floor in the 69th minute.
Randall Brenes came close to doubling Costa Rica’s lead on the nick of full-time but curled his shot from 20 yards wide.
All said, it is not over for Italy, who could still; qualify for the next round with victory over Uruguay, but for England; a win over Costa Rica could do the nation some good and help relieve Roy Hodgson of some criticism.
