In the statement released by her publicist Bunmi Odunowo she confessed that the two had been long separated, but had kept it secret for the sake of their 3-year-old son Jayden, The NET reports.
The statement reads in part:
"Her [Ibrahim's] decision to keep the divorce on the low was so that the two involved would not be distracted from their responsibilities towards the child they have together. However, Juliet Ibrahim has found it necessary to let her fans know today that, she filed for a divorce and it is final."
There was also a call in the message for people to treat the "difficult but necessary decision" with respect, so the innocent child didn’t undergo the unnecessary suffering.
It would be recalled that earlier this month Safo debunked the circulating rumours about the alleged crash of their marriage saying that their bond was intact.

Igbo Group To Boko Haram: We’ll Revenge Any Attack On Igbo Soil

PAN Igbo socio-political organisation, Obigbo, has warned Boko Haram insurgents to regard the South East as a no go area, noting that any attack on Ndigbo on Igbo soil would be met with reprisal attacks.

It also said that Ndigbo would not be part of any activity that will disintegrate Nigeria, adding that the Igbo would not watch while her people were killed in Igbo- land.
The National Leader of the group, Chief Charles Ahize while briefing newsmen in Lagos urged all the governors of the south eastern states to tighten security in the region.
He said: “We want to make it aboundantly clear to the Boko Haram insurgents that if any life is lost on Igbo soil, there will be a reprisal of monumental proportions that the country will find difficult to contain.
“It is no longer in doubt that there is a clear and present danger to the lives and property of Ndigbo in Igboland. Obigbo, hereby, sounds a clear note of warning to the Boko Haram insurgents and their financiers that the South East is a no go region. Any attack on Ndigbo on Igbo soil would be considered crossing the rubicon.”
It would be recalled that on June 16, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has said they will bring down Nigeria if the Boko haram sect bomb any part of the Southeast.
This threat was coming after the discovery of two deadly improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at the Living Faith church in Owerri by the Imo state policeon Saturday, June 15.
Meanwhile in In May, MASSOB had called on Ndigbos residing in the northeastern part of the country to come back home following the incessant attacks by Boko Haram in that region.

Lagos Na Wa: Man-With-A-Snake Is New Scam In Town [READ]

When a man with a snake who appears to be mad decides to target you, stop and ask yourself these questions:
Is he truly mad?
Why you?
Are you carrying anything valuable?
I know these questions may not easily come to your mind at that moment, escaping the madman, avoiding a snake bite will tend to be uppermost on your mind. Well not for long, especially when you discover that within that melee, you have lost a hundred grand! This happened recently to a colleague of mine and yes, here in Lagos, yes again on the island, the Victoria Island.
He had just stepped out of a bank and walked like 200 metres when he noticed a man with a snake. It looked like the man was making towards him so he decided to change direction. The man with the snake must have read his mind for at that same moment he changed direction as well and it was to the same place.
This happened again and again, my colleague, Mr X become agitated and concerned as this wasn’t looking like a coincidence anymore.
Well fortunately, he didn’t feel alone as there were other seemingly scared people who were also trying to avoid the “man with the snake” as well. Soon they all started bumping each other while trying to dodge and escape the scare.
Okay, thank God that is over, they finally avoided him. Phew, what a relief, but wait a minute . . . . where is the money? Mr X “borrowed himself some brain matter” immediately. He turned while remembering all that took place awhile ago, his eyes locked on to one of the guys who until a moment ago he thought was a victim like himself. He dashed for him and straightway demanded for his money. While still blabbering as if he didn’t understand, trust my brother from the other side of the Niger, tore his shirt top down, grabbed his trousers and picked a dangerous looking stone with which he threatened to redesign his head while shouting the popular “Thief! Thief!!”
People were already gathering, the accomplices of the cornered guy quickly came to his rescue, yes you guessed right, the mad man too. The money surfaced. “Count it, is it complete?” One wonders if they knew how much was there in the first place. Well Mr X didn’t bother to count and neither pressed charges, was just glad to put some distance between himself and the crowd that had now gathered.
How did I know? Well he told the story, now I have told the story, please tell the story, so that people can be aware of the new trick in town. Did I hear say, “Lagos na wa, I swear!”
Naija, ingeniously evil!

Soyinka: Jonathan Has Case To Answer On Ekiti Elections

The 2014 Governorship Elections in Ekiti State may have come and gone, but Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, wants President Goodluck Jonathan to tell Nigerians who authorised the military to prevent some governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from attending the final governorship election campaign in Ekiti State.
Soyinka made this statement while briefing newsmen on Saturday, 21 June, 2014 in Lagos, urging the affected governors to seek redress in court.
He also described the actions of security operatives in Ekiti as a dangerous precedent that should not be swept under the carpet.
Soyinka also called on the National Assembly to set up a commission of enquiry to unravel those behind the act, even as he regretted that the military dishonoured itself for accepting to be used to influence a democratic process.
It could be recalled that Governors Rotimi Amaechi of RiversState, Aliyu Wammako of Sokoto and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State were among the APC governors stopped on Thursday by security forces from attending the rally of Governor Kayode Fayemi, their party’s candidate in yesterday’s election in Ekiti State.
According to Soyinka: "To prevent governors from entering Ekiti is unconstitutional. The matter should be charged to court.
"Supposing the governors were thugs, we will say that what the army did was constitutional. When the army starts acting like thugs, I see no difference between their action and waylaying the governors. So I am asking the military; when did you take up the job of electoral thugs? The governors should sue whoever is responsible."

* Professor Wole Soyinka
The Nobel Laureate explained that the action against the governors was the kind a former Police Commissioner in Rivers State, Mr Matthew Mbu, considered a proper conduct.
He said: “I want us to think about this. When did Police Commissioner Mbu join the military? When we spoke in this hall people said what business does Wole Soyinka have with Rivers, what does Femi Falana have in Rivers State? What we were saying that day was that if we allowed this kind of conduct to be accepted, there will be escalation. It will happen in dangerous dimensions in any other place in Nigeria.’
”We have a responsibility in any part of Nigeria where the rights of the citizens are violated. It does not matter whether the person is a motor mechanic, governor or legislator. We have a responsibility to cry out and to tell Nigerians, ‘if you don’t speak now, it will come to you. And it is going to come with fatal consequences’. It is about time we put a stop to that.”
Soyinka added that, “Who gave orders like that? Is it the Chief of the Army Staff? Is it a General somewhere? Is it the Korofo as they call them? Enough is enough. Fayemi has a name, Amaechi has a name, Oshiomhole has a name. Why is it that those who prevented them from exercising their citizens’ rights do not have names? It is always ‘order from the top’.
"Sometimes we don’t even know where the top is. It happened in Rivers State. And now there is ‘order from the top’ to stop the governors. That type of language should stop. The military is being paid from the public purse. They are now taking sides in a political election. What do we do about this situation? The legislative houses must live up to their duties. They must wake up to their duties.
"There has to be a commission of enquiry about what actually happened. We want a specific investigation. We want to know who is responsible. Who gave the order? We want these people to be called to give evidence. All the governors should sue for the violation of their human rights. They should make a case out of it.
"Let us make an example once and for all. We can not continue with this kind of misconduct which makes us a laughing stock all over the world. Can you imagine what happened in the States just yesterday afternoon. Can you imagine the language that is being used to describe Nigerians. People were asking about what was happening in the wonderland of ours. Some said they heard that some governors were stopped, while one was tear-gassed.”
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electorla Commission, INEC, on Sunday, 22 June, 2014 declared Ayo Fayose of People Democratic Party, PDP, as the winner of the Governorship Elections in Ekiti.
Incumbent Governor, Kayode Fayemi was declared second ahead of Bamidele Opeyemi of Labour Party.
Few hours after INEC’s announcement of the results, Governor Fayemi had accepted the results and congratulated Fayose on his victory.

"I would like to point out especially to our youths that the general elections are fast approaching, this calls for responsible engagement and participation" Jonathan said. "While encouraging you to vote for credible candidates of your choice, I urge you to shun all invitations to political thuggery or acts that can undermine free, fair and credible elections."
The president, who was represented by Suleiman Bagoro, the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, reiterated the Federal Government determination in winning the war against insurgency, and noted that terrorism was planned to mar the country’s peaceful co-existence.

"They will not succeed, we are determined to win this war and win back peace which is prerequisite for our development".
He added that efforts were being made to stop the inequality between Bachelor’s degree holders and Higher National Diploma certificate holders in the public service, and went ahead to lament the over-dependence on paper qualification. He said the crux of his administration was to address the challenges facing the education sector.
"Our aim in government is to address comprehensively, the challenges facing the education sector. We must move the focus from the mere acquisition of certificates to the development and application of skills for which individual students are best suited" he said.
Responding, Ita, while commending the institution for the award pointed out that the challenge of nation building could only be made easier if tertiary institutions produced graduates that were academically and morally sound.
"This will most definitely redefine character, norms and the socio-cultural belief system of the society to one that is positively and progressively oriented for the growth, peace and development of the nation" Ita said.
Huseyin Sert, the Vice-Chancellor of the university in his remark said that the institution was aimed at enhancing bilateral relation between both countries, and noted that all the courses offered by the university have been accredited by the National Universities Commission, NUC.

Six Nigerians Arrested For forging Letterheads Of Ghana's President

Six Nigerians have been arrested for allegedly forging letterheads of the Office of the President of Ghana, John Mahama and other state institutions to defraud people.

According to a report on Ghana’s Daily Graphic, the arrested suspects are Paul Kelvin, 20; Wallace Darden Odon, 28; Osamidiamwen Ikecheku Emeka, 24; Prince Ejime, 19; Charles Chinedu, 32, and Adebayoo Alaba Saheed, 21.
It was gathered that all the suspects are unemployed while they live in the west African nation.
Reports stated that all the arrested Nigerians have been charged with forging documents, signatures and posing as state officials.
It was also gathered that the suspects were charged with deceit of public officers because they gave false names to the police during interrogation.
The Ghanaian website, while quoting the Accra Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Paul Kontomah, reports that the suspects were arrested in a house at Ayensu Estate, near Adenta in Accra, on 9 June, 2014.
Among the letters retrieved from the suspects was one directing a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to take his compulsory leave for Mr Mohammed Alhassan, the current IGP, to take over the position.
There were also certificates signed by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, to prove the origins of some American citizens, as well as High Court disclaimer forms.
Mr Kontomah said the police, acting on intelligence that the young men were involved in criminal activities, swooped on them in the early hours of 9 June, “and we found them busy browsing the Internet in their room with laptops.”
He said prior to the arrest of the suspects, residents of the area had filed complaints with the police that a group of young men in the house had been harassing them in the night.
Among items police retrieved from the Nigerians were eight laptops and a search on them led to the retrieval of a number of forged documents from state institutions.
Some of the forged documents are ones from the Office of the President, the High Court, the Ghana Police Service, the Value Added Tax division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, among other institutions.
The police chief said the suspects used the documents to facilitate illegal electronic transaction and lure people to part with money.
In addition to the eight laptops retrieved from the suspects, a quantity of dried substances believed to be Indian hemp was also allegedly found on them.

One of the letters on the letterhead of the Office of the President and purportedly signed by Dr Raymond A. Atuguba, the Executive Secretary to the President, read: “His Excellency the President has given approval for Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye, the Inspector-General of Police, to commence his compulsory 90-day terminal leave from February 5-4 May 2013.

Ekiti Elections: Oshiomhole Doubts Jonathan Gave Order To Bar APC Governors

The governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has said he does not believe it was President Jonathan who gave the order for some APC leaders to be barred from getting to Ekiti to attend the party's campaign for Fayemi.

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole
Speaking on Saturday, on a Channels Television program, Gov. Oshiomhole described the incident as very embarrassing as his presence in Ekiti will not change the results of the elections, while adding that it was the handiwork of overzealous persons who think they are helping the president and his party.
"It may not be coming from what everybody regards as above because the man in charge of this Nigeria project today, who is in the driver’s seat, is the President.
"I do not think that President Jonathan will order anybody to prevent people from going to campaign. But you have people who think they love the ruling party more than the chief of the party," the governor said.
According to Oshiomhole he had the right to go to any part of Nigeria, but if he as a governor, could be treated in such manner, “it reduces the country to something close to a banana republic”.
The APC had released a statement on Thursday, claiming that Mr. Kwankwaso and two other APC governors, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, were barred from getting to Ekiti where they were going to attend the final campaign rally of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti.
The APC also accused PDP of turning Ekiti state into a war zone by the number of military men they brought in for the election, adding that such acts showed the presidency was not committed to a free and fair democracy while also warning that they would not accept the outcome of the election which has already been marred.
