‘You did the right thing crying out at the right time, unlike myself’ – Teebillz writes to Harrysong

Tiwa Savage’s ex-hubby, Teebillz who once battled and recovered from depression has reached out to singer, Harrysong saying, he’s been there before.
According to Teebillz, Harrysong did the right thing by crying out at the right time to get the needed help. ‘It’s Ok “not to be Ok sometimes my Brother” and there’s no shame to it! I’ve been there! The Saddest part is that our society shy’s away from the truth and being human, we are covered up by a culture that is so far lost. We emulate the western world at our convenience but shy away from the reality of consciousness’ he wrote.
He added that, ‘you did the right thing, crying out at the right time, unlike myself! The western world that we emulate has lost so many lives due to ignorance. Your mind is the greatest weapon to attack the delusional world that we live in bro! When you understand the dynamics of life, define your values and understand your purpose in life, the rest is a daily exercise. Gratitude is my recommendation. If we can all exercise empathy and love to one another, The world will be a better place to contain all of us in peace. Don’t get carried away from reality and the social media world folks!’.

”This is the worst government since 1999” – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and PDP presidential hopeful, has described the Buhari-led goverment as the worst government Nigeria has had since 1999.
Atiku who submitted his presidential nomination form last Thursday and hopes to be the PDP presidential candidate in the 2019 election, berated the government of the day when he paid a courtesy visit to Ahmed Makarfi, former caretaker committee chairman of the party who is also a presidential aspirant of the PDP.
“You can definitely acknowledge that since the return of democracy, we have not had a worst period than now, whether in terms of economy, whether in terms of unity, whether in terms of security, this is the worst time since 1999. The maladministration of the APC government is very evident, we have the highest record of unemployment since 1999, we have the highest inflation, we have multiple exchange rates that discourage foreign investment. We have the highest level of insecurity since 1999.
“People are more angry, people are poorer more than at anytime. Nigeria is rated as the headquarters of poverty in the world. This is unthinkable for a country that is endowed with human and natural resources like ours, just because of lack of clear headed leadership and direction, this is where we find ourselves. So, it is obvious that we just have to change the leadership of this country.” he said

President Buhari today declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019. President Buhari made the declaration at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Read his speech at the meeting below
His remarks:
REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ON THE REPORT SUBMITTED BY THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE 9TH APRIL, 2018
I am delighted to welcome you all to this very important meeting in the affairs of our party and our country. I want to specifically thank members of the Technical Committee for a job well done within the limited time frame.
2. It shows a great sense of commitment to the ideals of our party with a view to consolidating and positioning the party to continue delivering good governance in the overall interest of Nigerians.
3. With the present state of the party and based on the report submitted by the Technical Committee, It is important to focus on how to move the party forward by avoiding actions detrimental to the interest of the party. Considering that politics is a game of numbers, we must not be a house divided against itself and must try to note, appreciate and accommodate our differences as far as the law permits.
4. Upon my review of the Report, my position is to ensure that the party tows the path of unity, legality and cohesion and not that of division.
5. Therefore, I am stressing that we should strengthen our internal democracy by organising the Party’s Congresses and Convention where election of National Executive Committee members would be held. This will automatically end the cases filed by members seeking orders of Court compelling the party to hold its Congresses.
6. I also believe that the current executives should be free to vie for elective positions in the party if they so wish as permitted by our Party constitution.
7. However, considering the provision of Article 31(1)(iii) of the APC Constitution which requires any serving officer desirous of seeking re-election to resign from office 30 days before election, I am not sure of the practicality of present serving officers’ ability to meet this condition.
8. Accordingly, the party may consider granting waivers to party executives at all levels so that they are not disenfranchised from participating in the elections should they wish to do so, provided this does not violate our rules.
9. Necessary waiver(s) should also be extended to executives at the Ward level whose tenures may have elapsed, and indeed to anyone knocking at our doors from other political parties. This is in the spirit of the Right to Freedom of Association guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
10. In this circumstance, the party should officially issue a statement on the above Waivers so that our house may be full. We all must not be ignorant of the times, and the journey that is ahead of us.
11. Just like our party symbol; “the Broom,” which typifies strength in unity, let us strive to remain united in our purpose. Victory is sure by the Grace of God, and together we must continue to sanitize Nigeria’s political environment.
12. Once again, I welcome you all to this meeting with the hope that we will, in our deliberations today, conduct ourselves without rancour and promote the highest interest of the party and the nation.
Thank you.

Fela mingled with the wrong people in his last days – Daughter says

Motunrayo, daughter of late afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has taken to IG to slam some of the people her father associated with while he was alive.
Sharing a photo of him with some friends, she wrote;
“After all these suffering, Some useless hopeless hypocrites will tell me having my father’s money is not my money. I know you are hypocrites cause if I work and suffer my children and they say such to me, I won’t only be heart broken I will be sad the rest of my life.
“My father said in his own words, I won’t allow my children suffer the way I did . I am a proud daughter and I appreciate everything you did FELA. Everything I will ever do today is for my children, anything I put my hands to.
“As for me I don’t need much only to live longer ?????????? The picture is from a friend @olufelakuti. This picture brought tears to my eyes, thinking about the poeple he trusted in his last days makes me angry ??”

2019: ”APC government plans to use corruption charges to silence key opposition figures” PDP alleges

In a statement released on its social media page, PDP says it has gotten information of the APC-led government’s plan to use corruption charges to silence some key opposition figures ahead of the 2019 general elections. Read the statement below
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s attention has been brought to alleged clandestine plots by certain agents of the Federal Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to clamp down on key members of the opposition parties ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Part of this heinous plot is also to arrest members of the civil society, opinion leaders, the media and professional groups who refused to buy into the fabrications, lies, deceptions and propaganda of the APC and the Federal Government.
The PDP is reliably informed that the plot against opposition will be hinged on trump up charges of corruption, allegations of plotting to disrupt the processes leading to the 2019 general elections as well as alleged politicization of security issues in the country.
The first leg of this scheme is to commence a vicious intimidation and harassment of PDP members who have refused to succumb to pressure to join the APC in their undemocratic quest to create room for a one party state in Nigeria.
This will be followed by arrests, detention as well as jailing of members of the opposition and others perceived to be opposed to the interests of the APC ahead of the elections.
It is important to state that the trajectory of our political history neither provides a space for a one party state nor a self-succession shenanigan that seeks occupation of political offices without elections.
The PDP, which grew our democracy to become sustainable and successfully handed power to the opposition after the 2015 general election, has a responsibility to ensure that democracy and the application of its tenets flourish without let in our country.
The PDP and the majority of Nigerians, rallying under our repositioned platform, will never be intimidated or cowed on the principles of democracy.
All we are saying is that the APC and its Federal Government must provide good governance and live up to its campaign promises of eradicating corruption, vanquishing insurgency and bringing our currency to the value of one naira to one US dollar, among others.
We want the APC and the Federal Government to know that this country belongs to all of us and that this plot against the people will be firmly resisted not only by the members of our party but also by generality of Nigerians and the international community at large.

”Actng EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu is going nowhere” VP Yemi Osinbajo declares

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, is “going nowhere”.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja earlier today, Osinbajo said there is no justification for the position of the senate. The Nigerian Senate has on two occassions rejected Magu;s nomination as Chairman of the antigraft agency.
Despite the rejections, the presidency has continued to allow Magu head the agency. Osinbajo today told newsmen that Magu has not committed any offence
Magu is going nowhere. Seriously, what offence has this man committed. I have known him personally right from the time of the very first chairman of the commission till now, he is a very dedicated, trustworthy gentleman. Don’t forget he is also the most senior official of the EFCC.”
Osibanjo added that the presidency will not be forced to sack Magu just because the Senate is opposed to his appointment.
