OMG!!! See The Nigeria Artist Invited To Trump Inauguration Ceremony And The Artist That Refuses To Honor the Invitation
onald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States.
He has chosen the music for his first dance at the inaugural ball; aptly Frank Sinatra’s My Way. Whatever one’s views on him, he will certainly be a unique president, and perhaps his song choice was a nod to that.
Nashville-based jazz singer Erin Boehme is set to perform the song, to which Mr Trump with dance with his wife Melania.
The list of celebrities performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration party should make it one of the most exciting events of the year.
However, Donald Trump’s inauguration party, has been dogged by controversy, with stars allegedly asked to perform publicly rejecting the offer.
The line-up isn’t anywhere near as star-studded as Barack Obama’s two.
It is well-known that a large number of A-list celebrities strongly dislike Mr Trump, as they criticise him in public and he often returns the favour.
Boris Epshteyn, director of communications for the Inaugural Committee, dismissed concerns about a modest line-up in an interview on CNN in December.
“This is not Woodstock,” Epshteyn said. “It’s not summer jam. It’s not a concert.”
Here is everything we know about his inauguration.
Sam Moore, of soul duo Sam and Dave is due to perform.
81-year-old Moore was famous in the 60’s, with the Sam and Dave track “Soul Man” which they recorded in 1967.
He said: “I was a participant in the civil rights movement and have seen many positive changes and advancement in my 81 years of living in this wonderful country, but I know we must all join hands and work together with our new President. I honestly believe that if we can accomplish this, the best is yet to come. We all as Americans need to unite behind our new President and give him a chance. He needs everyone’s support to make America greater, stronger and an even better country.”
The Rockettes
The Inaugural Committee announced in December that the dance troupe will be performing at the inauguration.
Several members of the group publicly expressed their disappointment, saying they didn’t want to perform.
However, the organisation later said those who don’t want to perform don’t have to.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir
The award-winning choir has performed at five previous inaugurations.
It has 360 members, but one member of the choir dropped out after it was announced they would perform.
Jan Chamberlin said she was dropping out of the group .
She wrote on Facebook: “I only know I could never ‘throw roses to Hitler.’ And I certainly could never sing for him.”
Jackie Evancho
Former “America’s Got Talent” contestant Jackie Evancho is the only solo singer booked so far, and the biggest star.
She was on the television show six years ago, when she was ten, and has since released several albums.
The singer has also performed twice at Obama events.
Donald Trump has tweeted about the fact she agreed to perform, writing: “Jackie Evancho’s album sales have skyrocketed after announcing her Inauguration performance. Some people just don’t understand the ‘Movement'”.This is apparently the ‘biggest star’ of the inauguration. The country singer has said he “won’t apologise” for performing and that he is looking forward to performing for “our country and our military.
He has won multiple Country Music Awards and American Music Awards.
Jon Voight
He isn’t technically performing, but the actor said he will attend the inauguration.
Most of Hollywood’s finest have said they won’t attend; many A Listers do not like Mr Trump.
However, Jon Voight has always supported The Donald, saying back in October that he was the best choice for president.
3 Doors Down
This band has said they will perform at the inauguration.
They haven’t been up to much recently, but did score a Number 3 single on the US charts in 2000.
Lee Greenwood
This will be the fourth inauguration he performs at.
The country singer is famous for performing God Bless The USA.
The Frontmen of Country
This is a group of various country singers including Tim Rushlow, Larry Stewart and Richie McDonald.
The Piano Guys
This group is famous for covering popular songs using classical instruments.
They have “prayed for understanding” after agreeing to perform at the inauguration.
The band wrote in a statement: “We sincerely hope and pray for your understanding. We don’t feel right limiting our positive message only to people that believe or act the same way we do.
“We haven’t changed our message. We haven’t changed who we are, what we stand for, or what our music means and why we write it. We’re still doing what we’ve always done — playing for anyone who will hear our musical message with the hope that it persuades its listeners to love others.”he Star Spangled Singers
Will apparently corner you in the lobby of the event to perform “uplifting, patriotic songs and instrumentals”. They currently have 40 ‘likes’ on Facebook.
The Reagan Years
An Eighties cover band who specialise in replicating hits including Footloose and Don’t Stop Believing. They can usually be found at corporate events.
The MIXX
A ‘party band’ who specialise in performing covers of acts including Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars.
A Place to Be Trio
A trio of performers with disabilities, among them a wheelchair-bound singer-songwriter and a blind meteorologist.
Beau Davidson
An Emmy-nominated country singer best known for his patriotic single Blessed, and appearing in a religious TV movie with Raquel Welch playing a character named Maximilian Swayne. He was also one of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 51 Hottest Bachelors in 2009.
DJ Romin
A wedding performer and self-described “master DJ”. “My goal as a DJ is to translate my crowds’ focus in the present moment,” he says, “where they can create lasting memories with their friends and families by dancing and having fun!”
DJ Freedom
According to the official inauguration site, “DJ Freedom get [sic] you in the mood to celebrate! With a deep catalog of tuned [sic] from all genres”. Ahem.

‘Focus on packing out of White House!’- North Korea tells Obama after Kim Jong Un’s sister is black listed
The very secretive state of North Korea has told U.S President Barack Obama to focus on leaving the White House rather than North Korea’s track record of human rights abuses after the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Monday imposed additional sanctions on North Korea for it’s flagrant abuse of human rights.
The sanctions by OFAC which includes blacklisting seven North Korean citizens, North Korea leader Kim Jong-un’s sister among them, were being enacted alongside the United State Department’s “Report on Serious Human Rights Abuses or Censorship in North Korea,”
In November, a report was released showing satellite images of up 120,000 people including children as young as 7 subjected to forced labor, torture, starvation, rape and death and a 2014 UN report estimated that “hundreds of thousands of political prisoners” have died in North Korean.
KCNA, North Korea’s run media agency swiftly reacted to the U.S’ sanctions saying:
“The Obama group can hardly have a sound sleep, seized with the extreme uneasiness after facing the undeniable strategic setback. Worse still, they are hit hard by the public. Much upset by this situation, the Obama group have gone so foolish as to kick up the ‘human rights’ racket against the DPRK.”

“The US is not qualified to talk about somebody’s ‘human rights’ as it is the world’s worst human rights abuser and a tundra of human rights.
“Obama would be well advised not to waste time taking issue with others’ ‘human rights issue(s)’ but make good arrangements for packing in the White House.

“He had better repent of the pain and misfortune he has brought to so many Americans and other people of the world by creating the worst human rights situation in the US during his tenure of office.”
Amnesty International said in a statement:

A 36-year-old woman based in Durban area of South Africa has been arrested after a video of her allegedly having s*x with her 10-year-old son went public.
The video which has been circulating on social media captures the moment the 10-year-old son is seen removing the woman’s panties before climbing on top of her at a crowded beach as people watched.
The woman blamed too much alcohol she consumed during the day for the shameful conduct.
”I wouldn’t do that with a sober mind we all know that, I love my son as much as I love myself, I respect him too and I’m proudly a ZCC church goer, I’m a respected figure too at my church and my community, I would like to take this moment to apologize for what happened, I promise it won’t happen again”, said the troubled woman, whose name is being withheld until the investigations are complete.

SHOCKING!!! See The Real Truth Behind The Cross River Collapse Church, This Will Shock You
Mr. Idorenyin Daniel Udo of Whitesteel Integrated Services, the contractor that fabricated and installed roof of the collapsed church building in Akwa-Ibom State has told the Commission of Inquiry how Apostle Akan Weeks, the founder of Reigners Bible Church, caused the incident. He insisted that Weeks did not make complete payment of N26 million for the roofing project to him as he claimed.
During his cross-examination, Mr. Udo said instead of N26 million, Weeks paid him N20,250,000 as at the time of the collapse. Udo revealed how Weeks pressurized him from 2nd December 2016 to remove the scaffold that supported the weight of the roof, but he refused. He disclosed that Weeks then threatened to arrest him and his workers should he fail to comply. Udo said following his refusal, one Engr. Essiet, who is one of the members of church building committee, called scaffolders elsewhere on Thursday 8th December 2016 to come for the removal of the scaffold.
On the claim that he ordered the scaffold to be removed, Udo said he could not in any way give such approval.
“I did not give anybody approval to remove any of the materials used during the installation of the roof. “Scaffold can only be removed when the roof is completely set. “I advised Apostle Weeks to allow the scaffold to remain since roofing was not completed. “I only removed two of the seven derricks used during roof installation, and not the scaffold. “Derrick is equipment that is used to move materials from one place to another.”

Udo recalled that on Friday 9th December, he had noticed a crack at the right side of the octagonal church building by the second beam which he drew the attention of the site supervisor, Anietie Ndarake, who Weeks introduced to him as the church architect.
“I called the attention of the site supervisor, Anietie Ndarake, and he said that after the programme on Saturday, the concrete would be reinforced”, he added. Udo suggested that the crack might have contributed to the collapse of the building on Saturday 10th December, 2016.

N400m fraud: Metuh tells court to subpoena Dasuki as witness
A
former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party
(PDP), Olisa Metuh, has asked the Federal High Court, Abuja, to subpoena
former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to testify in his
trial.
At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, Counsel to Metuh, Mr Emeka Etiaba (SAN), reminded the judge, Justice Okon Abang, of a pending subpoena before the court to invite Dasuki as the next witness.
Abang, however, advised that both the defence and prosecuting counsel liaise with the authority holding Dasuki to release him to appear in court.
He said that it was only after the defence and prosecution had approached the relevant authority and the authority refused to release Dasuki to them that they should come back to him.
Counsel to the second defendant Tochukwukwu Onwugbufor (SAN) however said it was the duty of the court to issue a subpoena to anyone to appear in court.
The defence team filed the subpoena on Dec. 2, 2016.
It was premised on the grounds that since the allegation against Metuh revolved around Dasuki, it was important for Dasuki to be a witness in the matter.
Meanwhile, following the stalling of the case on Tuesday due to the ill-health of Metuh, the defence, at today’s sitting presented a medical report from the National Hospital with details of his health condition.
The defence team told the court that Metuh was unable to appear in court because he was admitted at the National Hospital for complications arising from spinal cord injuries.
Etiaba said that the medical experts handling the defendant’s ailment were unable to give the specific date for his full recovery due to the nature of the ailment.
He asked the court for a three-week adjournment for the defendant to recuperate and also seek further medical attention.
Onwugbufor, for his part, told the court that he had seen the medical report and that he was suffering the same ailment as the defendant.
He said he was able to get the right medical care only in London, and
urged the court to look at the defendant’s case with compassion since
his condition was even more critical than his.
According to him, what Metuh is suffering is excruciating and requires expert attention to ensure full recovery.
Prosecuting counsel, Mr Sylvanus Tahir, said that he was not opposed to an adjournment, adding that the prosecution sympathised with the defence and wished the defendant quick recovery.
“We have been served with the medical report of the defendant and we have little or nothing to say since the record speaks for itself. All we can say is that we extend our sympathy to the defence.
“With regards to the request for a three-week adjournment, we are taking them by their word since the medical report did not give an indication about how soon the defendant will be discharged.
“It only says his management will continue until he gets well and I am not opposed to the adjournment,’’ Tahir said.
Abang adjourned continuation of hearing in the matter till Feb. 21 and Feb. 24.

challenges facing this institution and capitalise on the strengths that
we possess.
“Even the best strategy will ultimately fail without the right people in the right places to execute it. Thus, it has become apparent that at this juncture one of the true challenges of the National Assembly is human capital.

My stand on $1.3b Malabu oil deal bribe, by Jonathan
Ex-President: transactions predate me
Former President Godluck Jonathan yesterday denied collecting $466m kickback in the fraud-fraught $1.3 billion OPL 245 Malabu oil deal involving oil giants Shell and ENI.
A report by French News Agency AFP on Monday quoted Italian prosecutors as naming the former president and his Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, among those who collected the bribe after the former president met with top officials of the oil companies.
The report quoted the prosecutors as alleging in documents filed by Italian prosecutors last December in Milan, that Jonathan met with Chief Executive of ENI, Claudio Descalzi, and his predecessor, Paolo Scaroni, to discuss the deal.
The prosecutors alleged that Jonathan and Mrs Alison-Madueke benefited from $466m converted into naira and used to buy property, aircraft and others.
The Italian prosecutors alleged that ENI and Shell executives worked with former Petroleum Minister Dan Etete to strike the deal.
The oil companies have denied the allegations.
In a statement by his Media Adviser Ikechukwu Eze, Dr. Jonathan denied it all.
He said: “We wish to make it clear that former President Jonathan was not accused, indicted or charged for corruptly collecting any monies as kickbacks or bribes from ENI by the Italian authorities or any other law enforcement body the world over.
“In the first place, we have to categorically state that the negotiations and transactions for the oil block deal predate the presidency of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan which began on 6th May 2010 and ended on 29th May 2015.
“It may interest those promoting this false narrative to know that all the documents relating to the transactions, issues and decisions of the Federal Government on the Malabo issue, during the Jonathan administration, are in the office of the Attorney General of the Federation/Minister of Justice.
“As President of Nigeria, there is no doubt that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan met with executives of all the oil majors operating in Nigeria and urged them to, amongst other things, support the growth of the Nigerian oil industry by ramping up their investments and comply with the Local Content Act that he promoted and signed into law.
“We however wish to state, for emphasis, that at no time did the former President hold private meetings with representatives of ENI to discuss pecuniary issues. All the meetings and discussions former President Jonathan had with ENI, other IOCs and some indigenous operators were conducted officially, and in the presence of relevant Nigerian Government officials and were done in the best interest of the country.
“We make bold to point out that the former President never sent any Abubakar Aliyu, as the innuendoes in the false report suggest, to ENI, the IOCs or any indigenous operator to seek favour or collect any gratification on his behalf.
“We will like to point out for the umpteenth time that whether in office or out of office, former President Jonathan does not own any bank account, aircraft or real estate outside Nigeria. Anyone with contrary information is challenged to publicly publish same.
“As the President who signed the Freedom of Information Act into law, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan lifted the veil on governance and encouraged transparency, knowing that evil breeds in secrecy. It is the opinion of the former President that journalists and media houses should take advantage of this law in their investigative journalism, rather than rely on hearsay.”

“I Wont Take A New Wife, That Will Be Madness At My Age” Actor Jide Kosoko Reveal
‘Forget all those things you heard. She was ill. She died of complications that arose from diabetes. Honestly, my family, friends and colleagues stood by me and I appreciate that.
Of course, you will always have one or two persons, who would say one or two negative things. But you see, in my life, I have fought so many battles and I have won all. It is only people who want to be crushed that would confront me in war, because the Almighty God has His plans for me. It is just quite unfortunate that these things are happening to me, but I would still thank the Almighty God for everything. There are reasons for everything and I want to believe that it is natural’.
‘If at this age, I still think of taking a wife, when I have over a dozen children, it is madness. On January 12, I will be 63. I am taking care of some of the children, while others are now adults. She left and left me with two teenagers’.

Banker who allegedly stole ex-DIG’s N30m granted bail
The Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday varied the bail conditions
of a former Branch Manager of First City Monument Bank, Rosemary Usifo,
charged with N30 million fraud.
Usifo and the bank were arraigned by the police Special Fraud Unit (SFU) on December 5 last year.
The prosecution alleged that the accused defrauded a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Archibong Nkanga, by allegedly obtaining N30 million from his fixed deposit account.
The offence is contrary to sections 1(2) (a), (c), and 3 (1) (2) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap. M17, Laws of the Federation, 2004, the police said.
Justice Saliu Saidu had granted the accused bail for N10 million with two sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties, he said, must be a blood relation and must own a
landed property in Lagos; the other surety must be a public or civil
servant of grade level 15 and above.
The judge ordered the suspect’s remand at the Kirikiri prisons pending the perfection of her bail terms.
The defence counsel, Mr. Olu Akanbi, on Monday moved a motion seeking a variation of the bail conditions.
He prayed the court to do away with the condition that one of sureties must be a property owner.
Prosecution counsel, M. Susan, did not oppose the application.
Justice Saidu, who would soon relocate to Port Harcourt having been transferred to the city, granted Usifo bail for N10 million with two sureties in like sum.
One of the sureties, he said, must be a public or civil servant of grade level 15 serving with either the Federal or Lagos State government.

Mikel Right to move to China
Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuff has disclosed that former
Chelsea of England midfielder, John Mikel Obi was right to move to the
Chinese Super League(CSL) judging by his experience with the Stamford
Bridge landlords since the beginning of the season.
Yusuff told SportingLife that it was not proper for Mikel Obi not to
be playing the sport he enjoys regularly and that he would always
support any decision taken by the ex-Lyn Oslo midfielder for him to
play regular football again.
He said the wealth of experience of Mikel Obi would still be needed by
the Eagles and that he won’t be able to give that if he is not playing
regularly for his team.
Yusuff also hinted that he was delighted with the switch of Wilfred
Ndidi to Leicester City of England from the Belgian side, RKC Genk
while asserting that the Eagles’ utility player would be a better
player under Claudio Ranieri in the EPL.
